Fancy owning a tablet for less than US$80
Many people have started ditching the humble netbook and ultraportable notebook in favor of devices such as slates and tablet PCs, and it is wasy to see why. After all, it is hard to argue about the increased portability and convenience which such devices are well-known for. Unfortunately, they are anything but affordable, with the cheapest tablet still having a cool three-digit pricetag attached to it.
However, if one is willing to trade the peace-of-mind of getting a tablet or slate PC from an established OEM for a similar device that performs the same basic tasks at a much lower price, China will undoubtedly be the ideal shopping venue for such a device. Apparently, a Chinese OEM known as Aishuo has announced the availability of two mobile internet devices (MIDs) which can be purchased for only US$60 apiece.
Based on the images obtained by M.I.C Digi, we gathered that the two tablets the site was referring to are none other than the AiShuo A-712 and A-711:

EVGA demonstrates 4-way GTX 480 SLI
If the drivers are up to task, the GTX 480 4-way SLI platform is no doubt the ultimate gaming solution. One has to be concerned about what it would take to drive four monster GTX 480 cards.
We are talking about 1500W PSUs here, at least. The configuration means three of the four GTX 480's intake fans are mostly blocked out. This kind of an arrangement for a GPU that ends up near 100C even in single configuration has to be worrying. Let us not even mention the sound...
But of course, if you are crazy enough to buy this exotic platform, these little issues don't really matter, do they?
ATI Radeon HD 5800 series cards are compatible with 4-way Crossfire-X motherboards. However, 4-card configurations, as we have seen before, are heavily dependent on drivers. Of course, two Radeon HD 5970s in Crossfire can lead to similar performance without the need for a 4-way motherboard.

Details of Samsung's upcoming gaming notebook leaked
Samsung may be a well-known name in just about every single consumer electronics segment one can think of, but the latest information that has been circulating online seems to suggest that the Korean electronics giant is not contented with just that. Apparently, word has it that Samsung has got plans to make its entry into the market for gaming-grade notebooks, especially if the latest leak about what appears to be the companys unreleased gaming notebooks are of any indication.
Not much has been revealed about the companys new gaming-grade notebooks, although the leaks have claimed that Samsungs offering will be known as the 700G7A, and will reportedly boast some potent hardware specifications not typically found in an everyday notebook. This includes the use of what appears to be a design which appears slimmer than most commercially available gaming-grade notebooks today, along with a 17.3-inch display which is capable of 1080p resolutions, an AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics card (like the one used in our Alienware M17x review), a 2GHz Core i7 processor and a hulking 16GB of memory.
But the most “convincing sign” that Samsung intends to sell this notebook to gamers? Well, according to reports by Engadget and Akihabara News, it will probably have to be the fact that the backlit keyboard has had the all-important W, A, S and D keys highlighted in an eye-catching red, while the rest of the keyboard is coloured blue.
The leak did not include any details about the notebooks global availability (if at all), although it is said that Samsung might officially release these devices for sale come September this year at the approximate price of €1,800, or US$2,578.

Android 2.4 to be named quot;Ice Cream Sandwich quot;
Historically, Google has used names of dessert items for its Android OS system, starting with Donut (v1.6), Eclair (v2.1), Froyo (v2.2), latest Gingerbread (v2.3) for smartphones and finally HoneyComb (v3.0) for tablets. With that logic in mind, it should be only natural that the next codename for the OS should start with "I", and "Ice Cream" appears to be next on Google's list of Android releases.
According to Google's Andy Rubin, the actual name should be "Ice Cream Sandwich". It is also rumoured that the Samsung Nexus S 2 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc would be shipping with this new OS. Ice Cream is expected to feature additional usability features such as with new animations and added functions.
